About Champion Skyes Adventures and Tours

Under Alaska’s wide northern sky, Champion Skyes Adventures and Tours was born from a love of two things — sharing the wonder of the aurora, and helping others truly connect with the night above us.

We’re a locally owned Fairbanks-based company built by guides who live and breathe the Alaskan outdoors. What started as a passion for showing friends the northern lights soon grew into something more — a chance to share not only the beauty of the aurora, but also the stars, planets, and cosmic stories that fill our skies.

Every tour is designed to be personal and memorable. We believe the best nights are spent not just watching the aurora, but experiencing it — feeling the warmth of the fire, sipping something hot, and hearing stories of the land, the sky, and the people who call Alaska home.

Inside, guests can relax, play a few games, shoot some pool, or simply unwind while waiting for the next burst of color. Outside, the northern lights ripple above and the stars shine bright through our telescopes. It’s a space where science meets storytelling, and where wonder never gets old.

Our goal is simple: to give every guest a night they’ll remember — not just for the photos they take, but for how the experience makes them feel.

So bundle up, step outside, and see Alaska’s sky like never before. We’ll be here to guide you through it — one story, one star, and one aurora at a time.

Meet the Owner

Champion Skyes Adventures and Tours was founded by Kendell Champion, a guide whose love for the outdoors and storytelling has carried him across many places — and ultimately, home to Alaska.

Kendell began guiding at a historic park near Anchorage before moving north to Fairbanks, drawn by the magic of the aurora and the quiet beauty of Alaska’s long winter nights. Though not born here, he proudly calls himself an Alaskan transplant — someone who found belonging beneath the northern lights and never looked back.

He studied Outdoor Recreation in Parks and Tourism at Southern Utah University, where he developed a deep respect for nature-based education and visitor experiences. During college, Kendell also volunteered at the local observatory, helping visitors explore planets, constellations, and the stories written across the night sky — an experience that continues to inspire his work today.

Over the years, he’s guided travelers in a variety of roles, helping people connect with landscapes, wildlife, and the wonder that only wide-open spaces can bring.

Champion Skyes Adventures and Tours grew from that same spirit — blending science, story, and starlight into an experience that invites guests to slow down, look up, and rediscover the beauty of the northern sky.
